HAIL MARY is the first restaurant from husband and wife team, Ham & Sohla.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California by Bengali parents, Sohla has been influenced by the culinary dialogue in the city as well as her traditional upbringing. She honed her talent at some of New York's top restaurants such as Del Posto and Atera. Her first culinary experiences were cooking at home with her talented mother and scooping ice cream with her father in his ice cream shop.
Ham was born in Doha, Qatar to Egyptian and Bolivian parents. He spent his summers cooking with his grandmothers, learning the subtle nuances of their respective cuisines. Ham trained under the guidance of Alex Stupak and was the Culinary Director of the Empellon restaurant group. He also trained at WD-50 & Corton.
Ham & Sohla met in culinary school after serendipitously having every class together. They live in Greenpoint with their dog, Vito Corleone, and cat, Lucifer.
